A strong community is the foundation for a company's ability to be sustainable. Our alignment with Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being helps us achieve this foundation. A healthy, safe, and empowered community is the key to a successful future for a company. This is prioritized at the Kurt J. Lesker Company through our dedication to offering employees and local communities' resources and opportunities for them to optimize their health and well-being.

Employee Well-Being
We have a wellness program that is built upon 3 pillars (physical, mental, and financial). Employees are able to obtain a cash rewards or insurance reduction when they complete the program qualifications, which include getting an annual physical from their PCP and participating in four wellness events with one being in at least 1 of the 3 pillars. This helps ensure yearly health of employees by requiring a physical; and offering free educational tools for a holistic healthy life.
Community Engagement
Our corporate sustainability program gives employees the opportunity to champion and participate in wellness and community engagement events year round. When employees participate in a certain number of events within the year, they are able to obtain a paid day off for the following year. Examples of events include local food drives, environmental clean ups, annual company 5K, Big Brothers Big Sisters, etc. These events provide employees with the opportunity to participate in community-based events that support health, education, environment, and social causes.

Heath & Safety
To promote a culture of safety we have developed a good catch program which encourages employees to submit safety CIs before an incident happens. To incentivize this program, we have created a monthly review process, where based upon the CI submissions a safety champion is crowned. The individual or individuals are given recognition across all communications in the business along being gifted a tangible prize. The CIs are judged upon their impact using a safety matrix developed by our Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
