Monitoring and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions is a key priority for the Kurt J. Lesker Company. Our sustainability team works diligently to properly monitor, reduce, and offset emissions that are emitted via our operations. This is seen through the decarbonization of our processes and the offsetting of our emissions through our tree program.
Renewable Energy
The company's transition to renewable energy is one of our proudest achievements. We have over 1,000 solar panels installed worldwide generating megawatts worth of clean energy every day. With our onsite renewable energy and our power purchase agreements, the Kurt J. Lesker company has reached 100% clean energy operations at our Pittsburgh locations.
Waste Reduction
At our Pittsburgh offices we have developed an extensive recycling program, which focuses on findings recycling vendors for high-demand materials used across the buildings. The company works with over 10 vendors to recycle materials ranging from cardboard and paper to scrap metals and wires, along with everything in between. At our locations in the UK, they have been able to become 100% waste free through their work with the local waste servicer.
