Mixture of phenylmethyl and dimethyl cyclosiloxane making it resistant to oxidation/hydrolysis.

Features

Relatively low cost
Ideal for high-speed diffusion pumps (10^-5 Torr range) and large vapor booster pumps (10^-4 Torr range) used in high gas-load production processes
Applicable for heat-treat furnaces, aluminizing TV tubes, and vacuum metallurgy

NOTE: Do not use silicone fluids in mechanical pumps.

Shelf Life

It is strongly recommended using all fluids and greases at the time of receipt, however when storage is necessary, rotate older stock into use first and observe the recommended parameters listed below.

Silicone Oils & Grease

Shelf life is minimum 5 years when material is kept in original container and stored at normal, ambient temperatures out of direct sunlight.

When stored under normal warehouse conditions, DuPont MOLYKOTE® High-Vacuum Grease (formerly known as Dow Corning DC 976 High Vacuum Grease) has a shelf life of 60 months from date of manufacture, which is marked on each tube.
