We recommend against using regular bolts and fasteners inside a vacuum chamber because they trap small air pockets under their threads. These pockets can take many months to pump down because of their small gas conductance. Our vented hardware is designed specifically for vacuum use-preventing gas pockets from forming, resulting in a quicker pump down of your vacuum chamber.
